We Raise By Lifting Others”: Fans Celebrate Funke Akindele’s Support for Femi Adebayo’s Seven Doors Film

Popular Nollywood actress and box office queen Funke Akindele has shown massive support for her colleague, Femi Adebayo, as he prepares to drop his much-awaited movie, Seven Doors.

Funke, who is known for her big talent and record-breaking movies, took to her social media to hype Femi Adebayo’s upcoming film, showing love and encouragement for her colleague. This move is rare for Funke, as she doesn’t often promote other people’s films, making her shout-out to Seven Doors even more special.

On Monday, Funke shared the movie’s trailer on her Instagram page, getting her fans excited for its release. She captioned the trailer:

“Dem don open door o!!!!”

“Can’t wait to see this Limited series #SevenDoors by @femiadebayosalami. Congrats Femi!!! This one go loud o!!! Out on #Netflix December 13!!! Legggooooooo.”

In an interview with Independence in August, Femi Adebayo spoke about the film, hinting that it would be “bigger than Jagun Jagun.” He described the story, saying:

“The next movie that I said is bigger than Jagun Jagun is titled Seven Doors. It’s set in two different eras—the 18th and 19th centuries. It mixes the old-school setting with those 504s and Volkswagens and takes us back to the Jagun Jagun vibe.

“It’s a mix of different tribes. It’s about a Yoruba king married to an Igbo woman, with a Hausa man coming to invest. It’s a true representation of Nigerian culture.”

The movie features a stellar cast, including Femi Adebayo, Chioma Akpotha, Wumi Toriola, Yinka Quadri, Oshodi Oke, Dayo Amusa, Adebayo Salami, and Gabriel Afolayan.

The trailer for Seven Doors was first shared on Netflix’s Instagram page on Friday, November 15, with a message urging fans to stay tuned and watch the movie once it’s out.
